    A Broccoli Salad Recipe That Is Good For You! This crisp, refreshing Broccoli Salad with bacon is perfect for any time of the year. It's healthy, delicious, and loaded with flavor. A creamy, tangy dressing coats crisp broccoli florets, juicy apples, dried cranberries, red onion, and my homemade honey mustard almonds. It's fresh, healthy, and delicious!

    This broccoli salad recipe is incredibly easy to make, made with real food ingredients. Gluten-free, and paleo-friendly.

    My Broccoli salad is a combination of crisp broccoli florets, red onion, apple, cranberries, bacon, toasted almonds, sunflower seeds and cheddar cheese. Topped with a creamy mayonnaise sour cream dressing. It's so easy to make, and is a perfect addition to picnics, barbecues, potlucks, and holiday menus. Serve with your favorite grilled meats.

    BROCCOLI SALAD INGREDIENTS

    A simple combination of ingredients come together to make this delicious salad. You will love that this recipe is also easy to change up with what you have at hand, or add seasonal ingredients. For example, you can try pumpkin seeds, walnuts, and grapes. Here is what is included in my broccoli salad:

    • Broccoli
    • Bacon
    • Red Onion
    • Honey crisp apple
    • Dried Cranberries
    • Cheddar Cheese
    • Honey Mustard Roasted Nuts (optional), or use plain slivered almonds, and sunflower seeds. On a small baking sheet, combine the almond, sunflower seeds, olive oil, honey, mustard, salt, paprika, garlic, and onion powder. Bake at 300 degrees F. circa 20 minutes.

    WHAT DRESSING GOES ON A BROCCOLI SALAD?

    A classic dressing for a broccoli salad is a creamy mayonnaise-based dressing. I like to lighten my dressing up with the addition of sour cream. It adds the perfect combination of sweetness and tang. A touch of salt and pepper, apple cider vinegar, and a little honey for sweetness. For best flavor, I recommend tossing the salad a few hours before serving to allow the veggies to soak up the creamy, delicious dressing.

    Meal prep tips:Β This salad is easy to prep ahead, allΒ you have to do is toss it with the dressing before serving.

    • Pre-chop all of the veggies, and fruit. Then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
    • Cook the bacon too crisp. Once cooled, chop and store in the refrigerator.
    • Make the dressing and store it in an airtight container. keep refrigerated.

    Ingredients

    Broccoli Salad

    • 1 broccoli head (about 4 cups of bite-sized florets)
    • 6 slices bacon (crisp-cooked and chopped)
    • β…“ cup red onion chopped
    • Β½ cup dried cranberries
    • Β½ cup cheddar cheese (cut into small cubes)
    • Β½ apple (I used Honeycrisp, cut into small cubes)

    Honey Mustard Roasted Nuts (optional) or use plain toasted

    • β…“ cup almonds (toasted)
    • 3 tablespoon sunflower seeds (toasted)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
    • Β½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ΒΌ teaspoon garlic powder
    • Β½ teaspoon salt
    • Β½ teaspoon smoked paprika

    Broccoli Salad Dressing

    • ΒΎ cup mayonaise
    • ΒΌ cup sour cream
    • ΒΌ teaspoon sea salt
    • β…› teaspoon pepper
    • 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • 2 tablespoon honey

    Instructions

    • 1. Honey Mustard roasted Nuts (optional), or use plain slivered almonds, and sunflower seeds. On a small baking sheet, combine the almond, sunflower seeds, olive oil, honey, mustard, salt, paprika, garlic and onion powder. Bake at 300 degree F. circa 20 minutes.
      2. In a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the bacon and cook until crispy, about 8 minutes. Transfer bacon onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain. set aside.
      3. While the bacon is cooking, slice off all the broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces. Add them to a large mixing bowl along with the red onion, apple, cheese, dried cranberries, almonds, and sunflower seeds.
      4. In a small bowl make the dressing by mixing together the mayonaise, sour cream, vinegar, honey, salt and pepper. Add the dressing to the mixing bowl and stir until everything is well combined. Garnish with the reserved bacon and almonds. Serve cold or room temperature.

    Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

    1 Brokkoli kopf (ca. 4 Tassen in mundgerechte RΓΆschen geschnitten)
    6 Scheiben Speck (knusprig gebraten und gehackt)
    β…“ Tasse rote Zwiebel gehackt
    Β½ Tasse getrocknete Preiselbeeren
    Β½ Tasse Cheddar-KΓ€se (oder anderer wΓΌrziger kΓ€se in kleine WΓΌrfel geschnitten)
    ½ Apfel (ich habe einen süß sÀuerlichen Apfel verwendet, in kleine Würfel geschnitten)
    β…“ Tasse Mandeln (honig senf gerΓΆstet, oder normale)
    3 EL Sonnenblumen kerne (honig senf gerΓΆstet, oder normale)
    
    HONIG-SENF GERΓ–STETE MANDELN
    
    Zu den Mandeln und Sonnenblumen kernen fΓΌge:
    
    1 EL Oliven Γ–l
    1 EL Honig
    1 EL Senf
    Β½ TL Zwiebel granulat (puder)
    ΒΌ TL Knoblauch granulat (puder)
    Β½ TL Paprika 
    Β½ TL Salz
    
    VerrΓΌhre alles, und backe es im vorgeheizten oven (150 grad Celsius) fΓΌr circa 20 Minuten. Wenn kalt, breche es auseinander. 
    
    
    SALAT DRESSING
    
    ΒΎ Tasse Mayonaise
    ΒΌ Tasse saure Sahne
    ΒΌ TL Meersalz
    β…› TL Pfeffer
    2 EL Apfelessig
    2 EL Honig
    
    ANLEITUNG
    1. In einer beschichteten Pfanne bei mittlerer bis hoher Hitze, fΓΌgen Sie den Speck hinzu und kochen Sie ihn ca. 8 Minuten lang knusprig. Den Speck zum abtropfen auf einen mit PapiertΓΌchern ausgekleideten Teller geben. Beiseite legen.
    2. WÀhrend der Speck kocht, schneiden Sie alle Brokkoli râschen in mundgerechte Stücke. Füge sie zusammen mit der roten Zwiebel, dem Apfel, dem KÀse, den getrockneten Preiselbeeren, den Mandeln und den Sonnenblumen kernen in eine große Rührschüssel.
    3. In einer kleinen SchΓΌsse verrΓΌhre Mayonnaise, Sauerrahm, Essig, Honig, Salz und Pfeffer. Das Dressing in die grosse RΓΌhrschΓΌssel mit den Brokkoli und anderen zutaten geben. Alles umrΓΌhren, bis alles gut vermischt ist. Mit dem reservierten Speck und den Mandeln garnieren. Kalt oder bei Raumtemperatur servieren.
